Program Officer at Society for Women Development & Empowerment of Nigeria - SWODEN

We are a non-­governmental organisation which focuses on women and young people, SWODEN will design and provide innovative and quality health, educational, economic development and social protection services to its target groups in collaboration with other organisations to improve their quality of lives. Our focus are on women, girls & children. The groups constitutes a large percentage of our population and mostly neglected in policy formulation and implementations. We design and provide innovative and quality services [i.e. Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, STI, Malaria and TB, Agriculture, Educational and Economic development) to our target groups in both rural and urban communities of Nigeria, This is in collaboration with the communities and other organizations.Details:Overall Purpose (of the Job): The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the implementation of project actvities through organizing, coordinating and providing quality services to clients in in the project sites, provide full documentation of processes and achievements Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and oversight for the planning and implementation of the projects participate in Organizing and overseeing of fundraising events including writing grant proposals Responsible for community outreach and service delivery.. Assess needs and ensures that program objectives are met Organize and coordinate technical assistance to program staff and take responsibility for oversight of the inputs of facilitators and other technical service providers. Represent SWODEN in relevant events and activities of partners, as and when required and give visibility to SWODEN through meaningful participation at such events. Undertake desk research, data gathering and analysis in order to document experience, lessons learned and best practice Monitoring, documenting and disseminating outcomes of services provided Developing and producing monthly progress reports and contributing to the production of high quality reports for submission to donors and clients Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the head of department Key Outputs: Quarterly work plan, yearly work plan and progress reports Networking and visible representation of SWODEN Results based approach to and management of SWODEN technical services Leadership and Support to other team leaders and staff Employee Specification: Minimum of post graduate degree in public administration, public health or any related discipline. Minimum of four (3) years relevant work experience in project management working with NGO Strong knowledge of working in the development sector and donors, management of projects Excellent conceptual, analytical, writing and oral communication skills Strong team playing qualities/experience Mature, sensitive and caring but firm and decisive; able to assume and account for highest level of management responsibility. Tolerant of ideas, opinions and views of others
