In addition, NRC runs one of the world's largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours' notice when a crisis occurs. NRC is looking for a Shelter Officer for our area office in Maiduguri in Northern Nigeria. The purpose of the Shelter Officer is to implement shelter activities in Maiduguri and support the implementation of Shelter activities in the field officesNRC initiated country operations in Nigeria in June 2015, in order to respond to the critical and increasing needs in the country. NRC currently has a full team based in Maiduguri and a coordination office in Abuja. Job description Supervision of the Field Logistics Assistants Prepare all Logistics purchase requisitions for Field Offices ensuring that they are completed accurately. Prepare Military Clearances for the delivery of goods to field locations as requested. Conduct Fleet checks to ensure that all Field based vehicles are properly registered and insured and that all basic equipment required as per Logistics requirements are in each vehicle. Participate in assets and stock counts, once every quarter. Monitor the use of vehicles and generators by ensuring that log books for both are checked and signed regularly. procurement, vehicle management, asset management, warehousing) Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods Ensure NRC assets management system are in place and followed at field level Ensure all NRC assets/premises are in good conditions and monitor maintenance/repairs. We offer Commencement: December 2017 Duration: 12 months Salary/benefits: According to NRC's general directions. Duty station: Maiduguri, with frequent travels.
